Just Around the Corner!

It is 6 days until the start of the FBI National Academy Session 268!  It's hard to believe that a journey I started about a year and a half ago is finally coming to fruition.  I'm so excited to be a part of a such a monumental moment in my law enforcement career!

I'm going meet some of the top law enforcement leaders from around the United States and the world!  I will be taught by elite instructors who are experts in their fields.  I will see and experience things that most people never will.  Special access tours of New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., the Pentagon, and so on.

I'm going to put this awesome video here to explain what the FBI National Academy is.  Enjoy!

10 Days and Counting...

Wow!  It's 10 days until the start of the FBI National Academy Session 268!

I have to admit that I'm a little nervous.  I haven't been away from home this long since my Army days.  Unfamiliar people, places, etc...

On the flip side, however, I'm very excited to meet the many law enforcement officers from around the world!  I cannot begin to imagine the wealth of knowledge that these professionals will bring!  I'm excited to be instructed by some of the best teachers on earth.  I'm excited to see New York for the first time, Philadelphia for the first time, and many more places!

This is by far the pinnacle achievement of my law enforcement career.  This is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity.   I am so appreciative to my Chief and all those who have supported me along the way.

For my fellow FBINA268 students;  Can't wait to meet you!!!!!

Wow! Runs are Getting Faster!!

I'm trying to run every other day in preparation for the FBINA.  So today was my scheduled run day.  The prep I did different on this run was that I drank a small bottle of Gatorade about 30 minutes before the run.   I also take some creatine before each run.  Anyway, I started my run as usual and immediately noticed that I felt better than normal.

I ran two miles in 19 minutes and 46 seconds!!!  That's two miles with each mile being under 10 minutes!!!  I still can't seem to finish out the second mile without stopping and walking a little bit.  I would get my time down to about 18 minutes if I could keep up my first mile pace for the whole two miles.

Anyway, it's exciting to see the improvements in my physical fitness!

For my future friends at the FBINA, I'll be seeing you soon!!

Runs Are Getting Better!!

Just got in from a two mile run.  First mile was at 9:01 and second mile was at 11:39 for an overall time of 20:40.  This is a tie for my fastest time since before my calf injury.  I'm excited that my run is improving just in time for FBINA 268!!

New Shoes!

Finally had to break down and buy a new pair of running shoes.  Didn't realize just how bad my other shoes were until I tried a pair of good shoes.  Anyway, the new ones are Brooks Ghost 9 running shoes.  I think they are hideously ugly shoes for my conservative tastes but if they feel good and I run better then so be it!  Special thanks to Fleet Feet in Birmingham, Alabama, for helping me find a great pair of shoes!

Still Running

Went for a two mile run today.  Got the first mile in at about 9:33.  Started having some pain in my right calf (the one I injured a few weeks ago).  Pain wasn't terrible and I was able to finish my run at around 21:50.  This is almost 1.5 minutes faster then my two mile run just a couple of days ago.  I going to rest up for a couple of days and look at buying different running shoes.

26 days and a wake up until FBINA 268!!!!

I created a "logo" for FBINA 268.  Anyone is free to use it for their Facebook page, blog, etc.

31 days!

It's 31 days until the first day of FBINA Session 268.  Today is also the last day for course registrations.  I have made contact with a handful of other people attending the school.  I'm looking forward to meeting them and everyone in FBINA 268!!!
